As milestones come, the launch of our first waterproof jackets last week, marked an especially important one for us as a brand.
A jacket felt like the next right step after twenty years of developing and testing waterproof fabrics. Like our waterproof socks, AQUASEALZ™ is the driving technology. Water vapour from excess heat and perspiration can escape without compromising the waterproofness of garment, maximising comfort and breathability.
Both the Brancaster and the Trimingham use the three-layer construction synonymous with our waterproof accessories - a highly durable exterior fabric and flexible inner lining working dynamically with a fully waterproof and breathable membrane. The outermost shell is heavily resistant to abrasion, maximising longevity of product.
Both models are engineered for active lifestyles. The Trimingham is an insulated option, with PrimaLoft® Gold. The Brancaster is a lightweight relative with a similarly technical ethos. Ventilative side zips for increased airflow make this is a jacket of choice for more active pursuits.
In both, AQUASEALZ™ technology is supported by heat-sealed taped seams, preventing water seeping through stitching and ensuring complete waterproofness throughout garment. Details include a foldaway rear splash guard, zipped internal chest pocket, wrist gaiters, and a peaked hood.
Just over a year of research, development and testing of prototypes finished with our recent campaign shoot in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, putting them to the test one last time.
Importantly, these waterproof jackets help realise our founding belief that adventurers should be able to stay outdoors longer, no matter the weather.
